Spring Energy!!

The energy of spring brings us into a potent time for transformation. Whether you’re doing some spring cleaning, finding a new exercise routine, or just feeling like a change is needed, how we integrate these changes into our life can support us in making a more sustainable shift. This article explores how you can build a solid foundation to support you through phases of transformation.



1. Get Conscious of Your Habits

If we’re operating on autopilot, we may not question our daily routines and habits that keep us moving through each day like a conveyor belt. When we are aware of these habits, we can begin to make more conscious choices on how we spend our energy and time.

A regular review of our habits can help us to assess what is working and where we have the opportunity for an upgrade. Perhaps your morning routine could use some shaking up. Start your day with a super food smoothie for a nutrient boost, make time for meditation, or a morning workout. Take some time to assess your biggest goals for your life, and how you can re-work your daily habits and routines to support small changes.

2. Commit to a New Routine

We are creatures of habit, and building new habits take commitment to reprogram ourselves into a new pattern. Scheduling time on your calendar or writing notes to yourself to remind you to take the new action rather than going through your day on autopilot can help to keep you on track.

Also, reflect on why you are implementing the new routine. Keeping this in perspective can give us the motivation to keep going even when we “don’t feel like it,” and continue to adjust and problem-solve any challenges that come up so that we can stay on track.

3. One Step at a Time

You don’t have to overhaul everything all at once. Prioritize the areas you’d like to address first, and start with what seems manageable to you, yet is still stretching you into a new routine. Maybe it’s just one thing at a time, or maybe you’re ready for a bigger shift. Identify where you’re at and what you’re ready for, and then commit to it.

Give yourself 21 to days with a new habit, and then reassess. What’s working? What’s not working? What adjustments need to be made? Whatever you do, don’t give up on yourself. If something isn’t working, keep searching for creative solutions. There is always a way! Don’t Forget it only takes 90 days to create a new lifestyle.

3 TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED:

1. Make a list of the areas of your life you’d like to prioritize. For example, health, relationships, spirituality, fitness, education, career etc.

2. Make a list of your daily habits. Examine your morning, afternoon, and evening routines.

3. Ask yourself:

How am I investing my time and energy?

Are there areas I could give up to free up more time or energy to invest in areas that are higher priority?

What new habits would I like to implement, and how can I fit them into my day / week?
